Frequently Asked Questions

Is it a diagnosis?
We do an assessment for diagnosis, using the gold standard (ADOS-2 Autism assessment), and National Institute for health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) screening tools. The assessment for diagnosis will state whether you meet the diagnosis threshold for Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD).
What is the process?
The first thing you need to do is to message us, and we will arrange for one of the assessors to call you back for a telephone consultation. Where we will ask you some questions to see if an assessment is the right path for you (AQ10).

We will then arrange for your assessment; this will take place face-to-face. We understand that some services offer remote assessments, however ADOS-2 has not been validated for remote assessments. We believe strongly that face-to-face assessment is required to gather suitable evidence and to preserve the integrity of the assessment process.

At the assessment we will ask you to sign an agreement for our payment plan, as well as completing a standing order for your payment details.

Once your assessment has been completed, the multidisciplinary team will discuss your case to ensure consistency on the assessment decision. We will produce a report which we will forward to you for your review. We will then discuss the report with you and ensure you are clear on what the next steps are. You will notice our report includes references to support groups, benefits, and social media listings, which may well be beneficial for you.

What is the timeframe? - 6 weeks
From when you initially contact us, your assessment is normally booked in for approximately 3 weeks. Once your assessment is complete it will take approximately 2 to 3 weeks to complete your assessment report. Therefore, the total timeframe approximately 6 weeks from start to finish.
What is the cost? - £165 pcm for 12 months (£2,000)
Pay £350 on the day of your assessment, then spread the remaining balance over 11 monthly payments of £165 per calendar month.
What if I only want one assessment not both?
Then you only need to pay £1500. That’s £350 on day of assessment followed by 11 monthly payments of £104
Joint assessments
We currently offer joint assessments for the same price as a single assessment, so for an Autism and ADHD assessment. You would pay the same price £2000, spread over 12-month payment plan and £166 per calendar month. Subject to suitability.
How can we get financial support to help pay for the assessment?
You may be able to apply for an Access to Work grant from the Department of work and pensions (DWP), some people utilise Disability Living Allowance (DLA -under 16’s) and some people utilise Personal Independence Payments (PIP) to pay towards their assessment costs.
What can I use report for?
You can use the reports for an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) to get extra support for children and young people up to the age of 25. You can use the report to request extra time in exams and to request extra breaks classrooms.

You can use the report to access reasonable adjustments under the 2010 Equality Act, to enable you to function better in your workplace.

What about medication for ADHD?
To access medication, you will need to take your report to your GP, they will forward this to the local NHS ADHD service. This report will allow them to access support for you. However, some NHS services will still insist on doing their own report, if this happens in your area, we strongly advise you to raise a concern with the local PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service), as well as contacting your local MP.

We use exactly the same tools as recommended in the NICE guidance. Assessments are conducted to the same standards, though some NHS local services state they will not accept a private assessment. We fully believe in the right to complain to access the help and support that you or your child needs.

Some of our clients utilise the reports to access medication privately, whilst they are waiting for their local NHS service.
