Frequently Asked Questions
Is it a diagnosis?
No, It is not a diagnosis. We do an assessment for diagnosis, using the gold standard (ADOS-2 Autism assessment), and National Institute for health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) screening tools. The assessment for diagnosis will state whether you meet the diagnosis threshold for Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD).
What is the process?
We will then arrange for your assessment; this will take place face-to-face. We understand that some services offer remote assessments, however ADOS-2 has not been validated for remote assessments. We believe strongly that face-to-face assessment is required to gather suitable evidence and to preserve the integrity of the assessment process.
At the assessment we will ask you to sign an agreement for our payment plan, as well as completing a standing order for your payment details.
Once your assessment has been completed, the multidisciplinary team will discuss your case to ensure consistency on the assessment decision. We will produce a report which we will forward to you for your review. We will then discuss the report with you and ensure you are clear on what the next steps are. You will notice our report includes references to support groups, benefits, and social media listings, which may well be beneficial for you.
